Hey, Guys! I’m Marcus Hicks.
Most people know me for my high-energy sessions and loving my job! You can usually find me training at Strive. I’m often referred to as a Sour Patch Kid – sour, sweet, session’s over! I love serving the world by helping others, and I’m most passionate about happiness. I’ve been training for 12 years, and my experience comes from a lifetime of playing different sports. I started playing everything – basketball, football, and softball. My favorite was football; I enjoyed 4 years of collegiate level, and 13 years at the indoor professional level. That stemmed my passion for coaching, and I have since been a Strength & Conditioning Coach, Defensive Back Coach, Track Coach (speed, agility and conditioning focused), and a Power and Olympic Lifting Coach. I managed and Coached with a training team at Team Care Physical Therapy Rehab and Kinesiology Center, too. My passion for athletics and personal fitness is what brings me joy, and I love sharing that with others. I hold my Training Certification through ISSA.
I coach clients who primarily need help with weight loss and strength training, wish they could enjoy working out, and struggle to find happiness during the process. I inspire people to become their best selves without stress. Fitness shouldn’t be a chore – and if it is, it should at least be fun. I am lucky to help them reach their goals, remind them that they are capable of great things, and give them the tools to live happier lives. If you asked me what I thought was the most important thing about fitness, I would have to say Consistency. It can only make you stronger in achieving your goals.
When I’m not busy pouring into my clients, you can catch me working on myself. I believe you should practice what you preach. My hobbies include spending quality time with my wife and our families. We make sure to build time in our week for quality time together, and with those closest to us. The time with them helps us relax from the week – both of us are hard workers, diligent, and focused, so the time with family is important. I’m from Brevard and though she’s lived in many places across the world, her family is currently in India.
